RACINE – Marianne L. Frederiksen, 61, left this life on Saturday, October 29, 2005, to join her Lord and Savior. She was born on July 30, 1944, to Harry and Esther (nee: Nelson) Hermans in Racine and lived here all of her life. Marianne’s life was defined more by her passions and convictions than her actual vocations. During her life, Marianne worked at a variety of jobs including as a beautician, in customer service at Zayre’s, and in production at Jacobsen Manufacturing and Racine Die Casting. She also touched many lives in the last few years by providing companionship and caring for the elderly and disabled. In addition, Marianne was an entrepreneur running a ceramic and porcelain business. She was very creative, making and selling dolls and other collectibles. Marianne enjoyed scrapbooking and spending time with her many friends. Probably, Marianne’s special gift was her ability to reach out to others and care for them. She was a member of the Faith Community Church and the Bible Care Group, whom she considered part of her extended family. Marianne’s special love and delight were her granddaughters. She is survived by her father, Harry Hermans; daughter, Lisa Barton and son-in-law, David Barton; granddaughters, Julia and Maya Barton; brother, John Hermans and sister-in-law, Gloria Hermans; sister, Natalie Atkins and brother-in-law, Al Atkins; nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She had a special relationship with her nephew, Andrew Hermans. Marianne was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Hermans. Her memorial service will be held at the Faith Community Church, 215 South Newman Road, on Thursday, November 3, 2005, at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Dino Galati officiating. Private burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be time to visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 4 until 5:30 p.m. A reception will follow the services. The family of Marianne would like to thank all of the staff in the ICU and 3D at All Saints Medical Center and at Societies Assets for the wonderful care they provided. A special thank you is extended to Dr. Tim Lesage for providing exceptional care and support. The many visits by friends and family during her extended hospitalization were both appreciated and meaningful.
