
Turner Ray Morris, Sr., 65, went home to be with the Lord, at WFH-All Saints Medical Center on February 21, 2008. Turner was born in Columbia Magnolia, Arkansas on July 14, 1942 to Genea and Numa (nee: Burks) Morris. On October 3, 1964 in Muskegon Heights, MI he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Josephine Glover. Turner was employed as assembly line worker and a foreman at Chrysler, formerly American Motors, retiring in 1988. He was a faithful and dedicated member of United Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Lewis L. Doss, where he served as a Deacon and was later called to the ministry. Minister Turner Morris served in many capacities on local, district and state levels including the elder’s council of the Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Minister Morris was a devout Sunday School leader. Being a true gentleman, his God and his family was priority in his life. Turner liked to barbeque, entertain family and friends, and discuss politics. He was also football, basketball, and all-around sports fan. Surviving are his loving wife of over 43 years, Josephine; mother, Numa Morris; children, Deborah(Walter) Johnson, Cynthia (Pastor Lewis) Doss, Turner (Lisa) Morris Jr., Tonya Robinson and Craig (Angela) Morris Sr.; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his father, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins, Turner was preceded in death by Josephine’s parents, Edward Glover Sr. and Sammie Johnson; and sister-in-law, Betty J. Washington, and grandson. Visitation and viewing will be held at United C.O.G.I.C, 2849 92nd St. Sturtevant, WI, on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 4-7 pm. Family and friends service of celebration from 7-8pm. Homegoing service for Minister Turner Ray Morris will convene at Greater Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C. 522 N. Memorial Drive on Friday, February 29, 2008 with Rev. Lewis L. Doss officiating. Viewing from 10-11am with service following. Interment will be held in Graceland Cemetery. Repast will be held at Higher Dimension C.O.G.I.C. 1500 Grange Ave.
