
Buckeye, Arizona – Anthony “Tony” Lee Charles, 45, died on July 9, 2008 as a result of a tragic traffic accident in Salome, Arizona. Anthony was born May 24, 1963, the son of Roy and Mable (nee: Stephens) Charles, Jr. He was raised in Racine and attended Case High School. Anthony was a semi-truck driver for 25 yrs He moved to New Brighton, Minnesota where he lived and worked as a truck driver until relocating to Buckeye in 2006. In Buckeye he was employed as a driver for the Duncan Trucking Company. He is survived by his children, Anthony Lee Charles Jr., and Caleb Martinez of Racine, and India Charles of New Brighton, Minnesota; his mother Mable Upchurch of Racine; siblings, Loretta (Wesley) Carothers of North Carolina, Tammy Charles, Dion (Marcy) Charles, Sheila (Kenyon) Adams all of Racine, Fred Butler of Milwaukee, and Hope Mc Shan of California; grandmother, Willie Mae Pride of Rockford; godparents, Cleveland and Mary Cornelious; special cousin, Daryl Jackson; and his very good friends, Ms. Lucy Hicks, Tanya Kessler, Derrick Hicks, Polly Schmeling, Bobby Griffin, Bridget Jones, Brian McCullan, and Mr. Michael Frontier, as well as many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by son, Zachary; father, Roy Charles, Jr.; grandfather, Roy Charles Sr.; grandmother, Alberta (Jackson) Adams; uncles, Roscoe Smith and Harry Charles; and cousin, Brian Charles. Complete services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2008 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Homegoing services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Richard Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Anthony-You will be missed dearly. You were always there when Mack and I needed a friend the most. I will never forget you were the one who taught me to ride my motorcycle. I will never forget you.
