Racine- David Flores, 50, passed away unexpectedly at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, WI on Monday, August 25, 2008 as the result of a ruptured cerebral aneurysm which occurred while relaxing at his campsite in Milton. A lifetime resident, Dave was born in Racine on July 10, 1958 to Nestor and Julia (nee: Sabala) Flores. A graduate of Case High School, he went on to proudly earn his Associate Degree in fluid power engineering from Gateway Technical College. For years, Dave has been employed as an engineer for Racine Unified School District. On July 24, 2004, he was united in marriage with Angelica Marie Bruno. A proud member of the Racine Chapter of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.), he enjoyed cruising on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and spending time at his campsite. Dave and Angie loved sharing the special moments together that their campsite offered – building fires, appreciating God’s gift of nature and just spending time together at their little slice of Heaven. Above all, Dave loved and cherished being in the surroundings of his enormous circle of family and friends. He will be remembered for being an extremely giving and caring gentleman. Even in death, Dave donated his vital organs to enhance the lives of those in need. May God bless you Dave. Surviving are his loving wife, Angie; daughters, Heather (Matt Gedemer) Flores and Lindsay (Jeffery Bruce) Flores; parents, Nestor and Julia Flores; step-children, Breanna Bowen; Amber, Anthony and April Hetland; grandchildren, Breanna and Jalen Gedemer; brothers, Ernie (Roxanne) Flores and John (Margie) Flores; sisters, Christine (Rudy) Gonsalez and Kathie (Mark) Flores; mother-in-law, Bonnie (Robert “Roby”) Swanson; father-in-law, Richard Bruno; brother-in-law, John (Leslie Nyland) Bruno; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Chris) Norton, Elizabeth (Sam Modder) Bruno and Stephanie Swanson; many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Flores. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 10 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. In honor of Dave’s passion for motorcycles, family and friends are invited to ride their bikes in procession to the cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday evening from 7-9 pm and in the church on Saturday from 9-10 am. In memory of Dave, memorials to the family have been suggested.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Angie, and your family. I have had the opportunity to know Dave and enjoyed working with him at Starbuck. He was always happy and made the work day pleasant, offering to share any teacher treats with his staff. He reminded me that children grow fast and I am to enjoy them while their young. Dave was a great man and will be missed. Mort
