
Kenneth H. Kading, 77, passed away at Hospice Alliance – Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, WI, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 2, 1932 the son of the late Edward and Rachel (nee: Tourville) Kading. Ken served his country with the U.S. Navy from 1952 until 1956. On November 11, 1952, in Epiphany Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to the former Carol Andersen, who preceded him in death on September 1, 2007. He had been employed by Massey-Harris and later retired from Wisconsin Bell after nearly 30 years of service. Ken was a longtime member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, Pioneers of America, Lake Poygan Sportsman Club, a former member of Kiwanis Club of Greater Racine, a former baseball coach and Indian Guide for the Y.M.C.A.. He was a huge Packer fan, an avid fisherman, and enjoyed, woodworking, playing cribbage, and spending quality time with family and friends. Ken will be greatly missed by his children, Terri (Allan) Kading-Wheeler, John (Karen) Kading, LeeAnne (Dale) Spranger, all of Racine, Karen (Jim) Washebek, of Omro, WI, and Kelly (Nancy) Kading, of Larsen, WI; 10 grandchildren, Justin, Alicia (Mark), Tony, Daniel, Nick (Nicole), Stephanie (Michael), Mitchell, Carly, Hannah, and Becca; 4 great-grandchildren, Grace, Tyler, Sophia, and Callie; and brother, David (Nancy) Kading, of Streamwood, IL; sister-in-law, Joyce Parr and brother-in-law, Warren Andersen, both of Racine, and his loving dog, Angel. Ken is further survived by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including those in Boom Bay, WI. In addition to his parents and beloved wife Carol, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Beverly Kading, and brother-in-law, Robert Parr. His Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael D. Zarling officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. The family has suggested memorials to Epiphany Lutheran Church or Hospice Alliance-Hospice House. I will always have fond memories of our Christmas’s at Grandma’s, and Kenny telling all of us he saw santa on the roof tops, and all of us would run upstairs to see. He was loved by all, and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I only met Kenny once at a family gathering in Waupaca. I am the daughter of John and Margaret Kading, and granddaughter of Carl and Effel Kading. My condolences to your entire family.
