
Stella B. Supiano, 89, passed away in the Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. She was born in Racine on May 28, 1921 the daughter of the late Anton and Ludwika (nee: Wojciak) Stachow.
Mrs. Supiano served her country as a W.A.C. in the Medical Corps. On November 11, 1947, in St. John Nepomuk Church, she was united in marriage to Walter Supiano, who preceded her in death on February 22, 1992. Mrs. Supiano was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Church and the Rosary Society. Presently, she was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church. She enjoyed the 5 years that she was a resident of St. Monica’s Senior Citizens Home. Mrs. Supiano was well known for her bookmarks, making over 5,000 of them.
Surviving are her brother, Felix (Lorraine) Stachow; sisters, Bernice Stachow, and Mary Lou (Arthur) Baker, all of Racine; sisters-in-law Catherine Morrell, of San Antonio, TX, and Olga Witt, in Florida.
Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends, including Inga Koch, of Findlay, OH, and Mary Erickson, of Racine further survive her.. Stella and Walter had raised 7 foster children.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the chapel at St. Monica’s, 3920 N. Green Bay Rd., at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2nd, with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating. Visitation will be at St. Monica’s on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment, with full military honors, will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32. The family has suggested memorials to St. Monica’s Senior Citizen Home or masses to be said at St. Richard’s Church.
