
Gerry P. Magee, 74, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, June 16, 2011.
A lifetime resident of Racine, Gerry was born on August 9, 1936, the son of Kenneth Laign and Octavia Flora (nee: Potter) Magee.
Gerry served our nation with the U.S. Army. He worked for many companies throughout his life but officially retired from Lincoln Lutheran after 10 years of service.
He was a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church where he enjoyed worshiping weekly and helping out wherever he was needed.
His survivors include his children, Brenda (John Kelley) Niebuhr and Barb Madisen both of Racine Jeff Magee of Ann Arbor, MI, Scott Magee of Boston, MA, Jenny Magee of Middleton, WI, Shannyn Magee of Council Bluffs, IA; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; his brother and sister, Kenneth “Mac” Magee of Portland, OR and Susan Clise of Seattle, WA; as well as other relatives, church family and friends. In addition to his parents, Gerry was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Calkins Hutton and brother, Jim Magee.
Family and friends are invited to meet at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church (1700 S. Green Bay Rd.) on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. for the celebration of Gerry’s life and memorial service with Rev. David Echelbarger officiating. There will not be a visitation prior to the service however there will be time to meet with the family afterward. A private interment will eventually take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church Youth Group for the National Youth Gathering.
