
Racine- Robert “Bob” Louis Drier, age 73, passed away at his home, surrounded with the love of family, on Monday, December 2, 2013 following a 2-month battle with liver cancer.
Bob was born in Racine on May 22, 1940 to the late Cortland and Marie (nee: Holy) Drier. He faithfully served our Country with the United States Army Armored Division from 1960-1963 where he was a track tank operator who was awarded an Expert Badge in Sub-Machine Gun / and multiple badges for Pistol & Rifle. Following his honorable discharge, Bob went on to graduate from Milwaukee School of Engineering. On September 9, 1989 he was united in marriage with Elaine (nee: Jacoby).
Bob was employed for many years by Johnson Controls as a Manufacturing / Industrial Engineer. He enjoyed traveling, golfing (all over Wisconsin), skeet shooting, camping with his cherished grandkids and spending every available moment with his entire family.
Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 25 years, Elaine; children, Veronica (Jerry) Verwey, Robb Drier, Sherry (James) Erickson and Scott (Lori) Drier; step-son, Mike (Elizabeth) Mahnke; grandchildren, Nick Verwey, Brandon (Erica) Verwey, Bryan Erickson, Justin Drier, Ashley Erickson, Stephanie Drier, Cameron Drier, Taylor Mahnke and Grant Mahnke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention by name.
Bob was preceded in death by his mom, Marie Donalies; father, Cortland Drier; step-father, Roger Donalies; former wife, Marilyn (nee: Molnar) Drier; sister, Dorothy Thomas; and brother, William Drier.
In accordance with Bob’s wishes, private family services were held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, December 7, 2013. Father Mark R. Jones presided and military honors followed. In memory of Bob, offer a kind deed to someone in need!
