
Racine – Robert “Bob” George Koss, age 87, passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 29, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center.
Bob was born in Racine on May 23, 1929 to the late George and Gertrude (nee: Nelson) Koss. He proudly served our country with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. On June 17, 1950 at St. Rose Catholic Church, he was united in marriage with Lorraine (nee: Scholler).
Bob was employed by the Racine Industrial Plant – retiring in 1991 as a production manager after 44 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary’s by the Lake Catholic Church. Among his interests, he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, golfing, bowling and square dancing.
Surviving are his loving wife, Lorraine; children, Sandra (Joe) Bodi and Stephen (Becky) Koss; grandchildren, Tania (Michael) Bishop, Tammy (Russell) Jensen, Tracy (Chad) Roscoe, Kerri Matsen and Tyler Koss; great-grandchildren, Joey and Joshua Brewer, Russell Jensen, Cody and Christopher VanderHayden, Kayla and Kyle Roscoe, Dakota and Mady Matsen; sister, Delores (Richard) Slater; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Richard) Nelson and Jean Koss; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry, Clarence and George Koss.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s by the Lake Catholic Church, 7605 Lakeshore Drive in Caledonia, with Rev. Stephen J. Stradinger officiating. Military honors will follow. Visitation will be in church on Saturday from 10-11 am. Private entombment will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to the “Koss Family Foundation”, which benefits Racine County families experiencing a cancer diagnosis, has been suggested.
