Racine – Kathleen A. (nee: Kriofsky) Born, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2009 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Kathy was born in Kenosha on December 27, 1936 to the late Charles and Ruth (nee: Meyer) Kriofsky. On July 16, 1955 in Kenosha, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Ralph Charles Born, Sr., having been Racine residents all their married life. Kathy and Ralph enjoyed working at Twin Disc for 32 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Twin Disc 20 Year Club. Passionate about sewing and quilting, she enjoyed sharing her hobby with friends at Sew ‘N Save of Racine. Always placing her family as priority one in life, Kathy was an outstanding wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who treasured every moment of being in their surroundings. Surviving are her loving husband of nearly 54 years, Ralph, Sr. of Racine; son, Ralph (Kathy) Born, Jr. of El Paso, TX; daughters, Jackie (Brian) Haley and Lori (Jerry) Moran, both of Racine; grandchildren, Adam (Anna), Danny and Jared Born; Jennifer and Shawn Haley; Carly Robbins and Carie (Bryann Christensen) Robbins; David, Gary (Tricia) Melissa and Kelley Moran; great-grandchildren, Amaya Robbins, Jenna Christensen, Kevin, Ashley and Taylor Moran; sister, Judy (Larry) Neuling; brothers, Jimmy and Robert (Jean) Kriofsky; brothers-in-law, Earl (Judith) and John (Cindy) Born; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Russo and Carol Henthorn. A Memorial Service, celebrating Kathy’s life, will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 6:00 pm with Rev. Paul L. Raczynski officiating. Private entombment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-6 pm. In memory of Kathy, memorials to the Children’s Hemiplegia & Stroke Association has been suggested. A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Richard Odders, All Saints Cancer Center, and All Saints Medical Center -2nd Floor for the compassionate care and support that was so warmly extended during a difficult time. I’m very sorry for your loss! It breaks my heart to hear this news. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your families. I will miss my occasional talks with Aunt Kathleen. She was always so proud of everyone. I feel very blessed to have shared a small part in her life.

So sorry about the loss of Kathleen. I remember you telling me, at piggly wiggly that she was sick. I was losing my sister at the time to cancer also. Kathleen was always so nice to me. Wish we could have gotten closer. You guys were a model family.
