John J. Bonini

Jul 30, 1916 – Jun 25, 2009

John J. Bonini, 92, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital-All Saints Medical Center on Thursday, June 25, 2009. He was born in Arcadia, KS on July 30, 1916, the son of the late John and Maria (nee: Albertini) Bonini. John moved to Racine in 1927. On May 17, 1941, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to the former Wanda H. Danoski, who preceded him in death on June 2, 1997. John had been employed by the Hamilton Beach Co. for over 33 years and later by Massey Ferguson for over 11 years until retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and the Wisconsin Sportsman’s Club. John was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. Surviving are his children, Rose Marie (Bill) Altenbach of Racine, James (Faye) Bonini of Menomonee Falls and Elaine Hazlett of Racine; 4 granddaughters, Gretchen (Alan) Braasch, Kristin (Daniel) Lofton, Allison and Toni Bonini; 2 great grandchildren Samantha and Daniel Lofton; sister Emma Meyer and sister-in-law Ann Danoski. His nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive him. In addition to his parents, wife and in-laws, John was preceded in death by his grandson Gary Altenbach, son-in-law Gene Hazlett, brothers, James (Mary), Adolph (Minnie), Henry (Emma) and Albert Bonini; sister, Mary (Joseph) Martinelli; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph Meyer, Dominick Danoski, Edward (Phyllis) Danoski, Maryann (Harold) Bartels and Helen Danoski. His funeral Mass will be held Monday June 29th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Edward Catholic Church, 1425 Grove Ave. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32. Memorials have been suggested to the All Saints Cancer Center or your favorite charity. The family would like to thank the staff of All Saints Medical Center ICU and 2B for their compassion and care given John and his family.
