
Racine – Ralph James Johnson, 59, passed away at his residence on Monday, July 1, 2009. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi on May 1, 1950, the son of James and Ola (nee: Bozeman) Kern. Ralph lived most of his life in Racine and Kenosha. After graduating from Bradford high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Ralph enjoyed cooking, fishing, and baseball. He is survived by his children, Courtney (Sam) Stulo, MeLisa Johnson, and Ralph Johnson, Jr.; grandchildren, KaNetria and Keandra Powell, and Ty, Quinn, and Kael Stulo; mother and step-father, Ola and Henry Johnson; sisters, Beverly Kern and Sharon (Leroy) Visor; brothers, Michael Johnson and Darryl Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katrina Powell; sister, Phyllis Kern; and special uncle and aunt, Ernest and Louise McClain. Homegoing services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Lakeview Church of Christ (3224 Wright Avenue), with Brother Sylvester Stokes officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation and viewing will begin in the church at 9:30 a.m. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
