Racine—Cheryl Annette (nee: Flowers) Walker, 54, was born into Eternal Life on Thursday, October 14, 2010.
Cheryl was born in Racine on December 19, 1955 to the late Odale and Gloria (nee: Hughes) Flowers. A 1972 graduate of Horlick High School, she went on to attend Gateway Technical College and ASU.
A woman with many talents, she had been employed as a cosmetologist, school teacher and CNA, just to name a few. Born with a voice of an angel, Cheryl was a phenomenal singer who was most proud of her involvement with the 60’s musical production of “Beehive”. With a profound Christian faith, Cheryl had been a member of many local churches, most recently with Trinity United Methodist.
Surviving are husband, Oscar Walker, Jr.; sister, Bridgette (Henry) White; brothers and sisters, Lester, Debra, Angela and Jimmy; brother-in-law, Forest Walker and sister-in-law, Clarene Miller; aunt, Sharon Flowers; uncles, Eugene Johnson and Timothy Dumas; nieces, Amore, Anais, Aviana, Acharia, Amariah, Savannah, Johnisha, Edwina, Romara (Tawasha), Kassya, Kaviondra, Nariahsia, Keria and Stephenie; nephews, David, Ralph, Johnquel, Charles, Dontrell, Adrial (Ruth), Quadell and Ramon; special friends, Francere, Alice, Sharon, Aldrenna, Debra and Liz; and a host of cousins, other dear relatives and friends too numerous to mention all by name. In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts and uncles.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 10-11 am.
