Lawrence E. Price, 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at WFH All Saints Hospital . He was born on November 19, 1930 in New Albany, Mississippi to the late Richard and Bertha (nee: Hill) Price. On September 4, 1946, he was united in marriage to Geraldine Blackwell. They shared 64 loving years together, during which 7 children were born.
Lawrence worked at JI Case for 39 years, retiring in 1996. He served many years as vice president of UAW local 180.
He leaves to his memories, his loving, devoted, and caring wife, Geraldine Price; their children, Paul (Annie) Price, and Phoebe (Robert) Brown both of Racine, Kathie (Allen) Watson of Dallas, Texas, Mona Lisa (Robert) Marske and Deborah Price both of Racine, Evette (Rev. Kalvin) Barker of Atlanta, Georgia, and Noconnoco Da-Vell (Dawn) Price; his adopted son, Billy Cobb both of Racine; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sarah Gordon of Las Vegas, Nevada and Lorraine Rolland of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a very special niece, Quanie Blakley of Grand Rapids; and godson, Arthur Harmon of Racine; and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Leo, Hugh, and Hubert Price; and 1 sister, Ruddell Cobb.
Homegoing services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at United Church of God in Christ (2849 92nd St, Sturtevant) with Rev. Kalvin Barker and Rev. Curtis Doss officiating. Visitors are welcome beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will also be a visitation Monday evening at United Church of God in Christ from 5pm – 7pm.
