
Racine – Pastor Mildred J. Foster, 64, passed away at Sheridan Medical Complex on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. She was born in Yantley, Alabama on July 6, 1947, the daughter of the late Julius Ruffin and Gertrude Lloyd. Mildred moved from Chicago to Racine in 1972. On March 11, 1972 she was united in marriage to Rev. William H. Foster, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Pastor Mildred J. Foster accepted Christ as her Savior in her early 20’s through Pastor Frank Frazier. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin who truly loved her family. She worked at Dremel for over 10 years and also at In-sink-erator for over 20 years as a floater. She was a Pastor and Co-founder of Evangelistic S.O.R. Movement for 23 years. She was never at a loss of words for anyone she met in her words “I never meet a stranger”. She will be truly missed by everyone who has ever graced her presence.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Evans; grandchildren, Yolanda K. Foster, and Thomas W. Evans, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Samara, Jayden Michael, MiahRain, and Thomas III; brothers and sisters, Betsy (Richard) Perkins of Matteson, IL , Jeanette Lloyd of Racine, Helen (Kenneth) Lumpkin of Racine, Mary (Rev. B.L.) Richardson of Albany, GA , Annie (Donnie) Berry of Racine, Betty Lloyd-Nash of Louisville, KY, Tommy Lloyd of Lisman, AL, Dwight Lloyd of Racine, Kenneth (Stephanie) Lloyd of Florence, SC, Raymond Ruffin of Lisman, AL, Rev. Jasper (Martha) Irby of Lisman, Al , Dominic McRae of Racine, Greg (Jackie) McRae of Racine, and Bessie Lott of Mobile, AL ; god-children, Jeremy Gordon, and Heather Adams; her dear friends, Gladys Itson, Pastor Virginia Lackey, Mother Louise Hunter, Glenda Gordon, Edna Brooks, Bertha and Kathy Herron; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Homegoing services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2011 at All Nations Pentecostal Church (1502 W. 6thStreet) with Rev. B.L. Richardson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will begin in the church at 10 a.m.
