Racine- Mrs. Adeline M. (nee: Perman) Garner, 82, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center, surrounded by family, on Thursday, October 6, 2011.
Adeline was born in Wishek, North Dakota on May 22, 1929 to Gustave and Lydia (nee:Boschee) Perman. At the age of 5, her family moved to Chicago, Illinois. When she was 8, they moved to Racine where she worked in the farm fields alongside her family. This instilled a great sense of pride to her and her siblings. She graduated 8th grade from Richards School and then began her career at the Telephone Company. It was there she met a young girl named Sally Madsen that introduced her to her Uncle Tony. On June 14, 1947, she married the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Garner in Holy Communion Lutheran Church.
Adeline "Addie" was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved having her home filled with family and friends to cook and bake for. She always made everyone feel that they were special and important to her. Addie's devotion to family was apparent in the loving care she gave and the great joy she displayed in sharing the accomplishments of her loved ones no matter how big or small. As her children grew up, Addie worked part time at Carroll’s Drive In, McDonalds and PDQ, but her priority was always her family and home. Her love of Country music was apparent when you walked into her home along with the smell of freshly baked goods.
Addie and her late husband Tony Garner managed the Lincoln Villas Apartments. After retiring, they moved to the Lincoln Manor Apartments where she lived for almost 20 years. At the Manor, Addie made many dear friends who became a second family to her.
Addie's survivors include her children Edward (Linda) Garner of Racine, Donna Garner of Wausau, Shelley (Mario) Molina, Roberta (Mark) McPherson of Racine, Joseph (Sonia) Garner of Anaheim CA; 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brother Raymond Perman, sister Evelyn Loughan, sisters-in-law Katherine Perman of Racine and Grace Perman of Milwaukee; and many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Addie was preceded in death by her husband of almost 57 years Tony Garner, son Mark Garner, brothers August, Otto and Gottlieb.
Funeral services will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 10 am with Deacon Roberto Fuentes officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 pm and on Tuesday from 9-10 am.
Addie's family wishes to thank Dr. David Zablotney, who became part of the family, for the kind care and compassion given to her over the years.

Adeline was a great friend to my Mother, Ruth England, while she lived across the hall in the Dexter Black building. Adeline was the “chauffeur” to so many ladies on Sunday afternoon’s when the weather permitted. I will miss our phone conversations. My thoughts and prayers to all of Adeline’s family. Love, Ruth Ann Miller
