Racine- Alice Bettina “Tina” Davidson, 48, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 following a courageous four-year battle with breast cancer.
Alice, affectionately known as “Tina”, was born in Racine on December 2, 1962 to William T. and Ossie B. (nee: Towles) Davidson. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1981. With a profound Christian faith, Tina was a faithful and proud member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
Having a special interest in helping children, Tina was a well-respected day care teacher at St. Edward’s School. Among her activities, she loved spending time with her Jack Russell Terrier, “Jackie”; as an extreme sports fan, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys; and loved being in the surroundings of her entire family. Above all, going to church and praising Jesus Christ was her number one priority.
Surviving are her mother, Ossie B. Davidson of Racine; sisters and brothers, Linda (Cherry) Campbell of Kenosha; Valencia (Reggie) Tucker of Chicago, IL; Geraldine “Yvonne” Davidson of Racine; Lilly Gilkey and Raymond Wells, both of Memphis, TN; and Johnny Ray (Pat Cotton) Davidson of Racine; and God-sister, Irma Jean Odom. Further surviving are many special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends, too numerous to mention by name.
Tina was preceded in death by her father, William T. Davidson, on July 17, 1986; brother, Larry E. Davidson on July 24, 2010; and by her grandparents, Jossie and Edger Towles; Alice and Harrison Davidson.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11 am in St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1123 Center Street, with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10 -11 am.
A special note of thanks to Dr. Michael P. Mullane and his entire staff; Society Assets, especially Jeanette and Kathy; and to our St. Paul Church family for all the compassionate care and support given during Tina’s brave journey with breast cancer. May God bless all of you.
