
Racine- Robert James Russell, 83, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Friday, December 16, 2011.
Robert was born Earl, Arkansas on August 14, 1928. He has lived in Racine for many years. Bob had been employed at several companies during his career, retiring from Harris Metals. He enjoyed working on automobiles, listening to the “Blues”, and trying his luck at the race track.
Surviving are his children, Sandra K. Russell-Smith, Robert James Russell Jr., Janice Fay (Paul) Russell and George Jones; step-son, Johnny Ray (Pat Cotton) Davidson; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Willie (Doris) Harris, Daniel (Easter) Honor and Dewey (Joyce) Honor Jr.; best-friend, James Moore; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Honor; step-father, Dewey Honor, Sr.; great-granddaughter, Savannah Ferrill; and brothers, Costell Webb and Henry James Honor.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held at Wayman AME Church, 424 N. Memorial Drive, on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ernest J. Garrison officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 10-11 am.
