Racine– Daniel James Neiman, 38, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at home on Friday, August 17, 2012.
Danny was born in Racine on August 21, 1973 to Daniel Neiman and Karen (nee: Moore) Eells. He attended William Horlick High School and Gateway Technical College. Danny’s life was changed forever following a horrific automobile accident, at age 19, that left him blind and partially paralyzed. Needless to say, the road to recovery was extremely rough. However, after a few years, Danny accepted his new way of life…..picked up the pieces, regained his positive attitude, and became an inspiration to all who knew him.
With a strong faith in God, Danny was a faithful and active member of Community Christian Church. He also spent many hours studying the Bible at Racine Christian Reformed Church. Danny was fond of automobiles, music (had an extensive CD collection), Green Bay Packers, telling jokes (had an extremely unique sense of humor), and was proud of his Irish heritage. Above all, Danny loved and cherished being in the surroundings of his entire family and circle of friends.
Surviving are his parents, Karen (Lenthel “Lennie”) Eells of Rockford, IL and Daniel Neiman of Sturtevant; sisters, Pamela (Shane) Anderson and Jodi (Brian Rhode) Niemann; brother, Dave (Bridget) Neiman; grandparents, John T. Moore, Geraldine Radesky and Lois Eells; adored nieces and nephews, Caitlin and Noah Anderson; Danny and Charlize Neiman; Samanatha and Nick Johnson; Samantha Gjerswald; aunts and uncles, Barb (Dale) Durovy, Kathy Reiss, Patti (Rob) Milanowski, Debbie (Gene) Nickel, Maureen (Kevin) Youssi, David (Mo) Neiman, Randy (Sheri) Neiman, Lew (Bette) Eells and Julie (David) DuCharme; his dedicated best-friends, Ron Simcik and Arthur Cummings; other dear relatives and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ethel Moore, Herman Neiman, Donald R. Eells and James Radesky.
Funeral services are scheduled to be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 4:00 pm with Rev. David Baugher and Rev. David Kehrli officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 pm.
A special note of thanks to Danny’s friend and guardian, Ron Simcik, and to the entire staff of Bresha Serenity House for the phenomenal care and support given to our beloved Danny. May God bless all of you!
