Kenosha – Richard Paul “Ricky” Gutierrez, 21, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. He was born in Orange County, California on October 5, 1991, the son of Richard and Vanessa (nee: Rohde) Gutierrez. Ricky was a 2009 graduate of Reuther Central High School, and had recently begun working at Burger King.
Ricky was a good spirited and outgoing young man that loved his family, and was looking forward to getting married soon. He was thankful for everything he had and mindful of those who had little; which showed in the way he often worked to help those less fortunate than himself. Ricky enjoyed hunting, and building his collection of hats and athletic shoes, but his passion was music. He loved to work in his studio, mixing and producing music, with the dream of becoming a professional producer.
He is survived by his mom and dad, Vanessa and Henry Sosa of Kenosha; sisters Kira Meldgaard of Chicago, and Hanna Sosa of Racine; grandparents Charles and Sue Rohde of Janesville and the Rohde family, Henry and Lupe Sosa of Mt. Pleasant; fiancé Kailan Jackson of Kenosha; and many members of the Gutierrez family in California, also the Sosa and Mata family of Racine. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dean Gutierrez.
Memorial services for Ricky will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Cemetery services will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Monday evening from 5-7pm, and Tuesday morning beginning at 9 a.m. Memorials in his name to the Shalom Center have been suggested.
