Racine – Benjamin W. Glaeser, age 29, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
Ben was born in Milwaukee on February 12, 1984. A 2002 graduate of Washington Park High School, he has lived in Racine since age 14. For the past 10 years, Ben was employed by Walgreen’s, mainly at their photo service center. With a profound work ethic, he also delivered the Racine Journal Times since age 18.
Some of his interests included video games, card games, computers and music – especially listening to his extensive collection of music and his love of books.
Ben will be dearly missed by his brother, Gregory (fiancé, Rochelle Traeder) Glaeser; girlfriend, Amannda Olmstead and her children, Aubrianna and Malaki; aunts, Nancy Holmlund and Sue (Gary Mills) Blank-Mills; uncles, Bob (Kathy) and Tom Glaeser; longtime friend, Marcy Whited; extended family members, Ben, Kristi and Nick Moon; many dear cousins, other special realtives, members of “Nerd Night”; numerous dear friends – too numerous to mention all by name.
Ben was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Ann Glaeser in 2001; grandmother, Ileane Glaeser; and uncle, Fred Glaeser.
A memorial service of remembrance will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 6:00 pm. Please come prepared to share a “Ben” memory or story. A reception will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ben’s brother, Greg. Eventually, a contribution will be given to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in memory of Ben.
Candy Peterson says
Ben has helped me many times while I tried to figure out the photo machines at the Walgreens on Durand. He was always kind and patient, and polite. He was a very nice man. My deepest sympathies to his family.
Annette Eckert and Wendi Hood-Madsen says
The world was a better place with my friend, Ben. I will miss him dearly.
