
Racine – Corinthia “Corinza” Townsend, 77, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on January 24, 1936, daughter of the late Ben and Florence (nee: Sullivan) White. She had been a Racine area resident since 1974.Corinza’s joy in life was derived by spending time with her family and doting upon her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved singing spiritual gospels, and watching television games shows. Corinza was a member of Holy Disciple Pentecostal Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Otis Townsend Sr., her children, Mildred (Kenneth) Price, Alphanzo Townsend, Joanne Townsend, and Garry (Leslie) Townsend; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister Mildred Taylor; and brother Monroe White; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her son Otis Townsend Jr., her sisters Ethel Lee and Beatrice Pride; and her dear friend Clifton Taylor.
Homegoing services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2014 with Pastor A.W. Scaife officiating. Interment will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation in the funeral home will begin at 10:00 a.m.
