Racine – Julie Ann (nee: Morris) Gorelik; age 56, passed away peacefully at her home and was welcomed Home through the Golden Gates of Heaven by her mother, Charlotte, and sister, Cathy; at 2:44 am on 4/22 (As Julie was into the meaning of numbers….this time and date with 4’s and 2’s means in the spiritual text that “The angels nurse your newborn purpose.” – “This is a sign that you have help from above in making your desired transitions. This is a time that you need to know that you are not alone. The 2 and 4 sequences are a signal from your angels to tell you that they’re working very closely with you right now.”) Tuesday morning, April 22, 2014 following a 6-month battle with cancer of her gallbladder and liver.
Julie, also known as “Jewels”, was born in Racine on September 10, 1957 to Victor and Charlotte (nee: Nelson) Morris. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1975. On a beautiful sunny afternoon of May 2, 1981 in the gardens of Wustum Museum, Julie was united in marriage with the love of her life, Sylvester Augustine Gorelik. Julie was proud of her lifelong career as a “Household Goddess”, a vocation she completely excelled at.
Julie was all about God, Family and Nature. With a profound Christian faith, Julie often read her Bible, attended prayer group sessions, and was an extreme Prayer Warrior – constantly praying for family, friends and strangers alike. She also had a great appreciation for the outdoors including all of God’s little creatures; enjoyed a good game of dice; and was forever keeping up with the political world. Above all, Julie loved nothing more than being in the surroundings of her entire family.
Surviving are her loving husband of nearly 33 years, Syl; children, Jessy Gorelik-Jensen; Sara (Logan) Hansen; Sgt. Brittany Gorelik-Molina, United States Marine Corps; and Sam Gorelik; grandson, Jarod Loew; father and step-mother, Victor and Karlyn Morris; brothers, Bob Morris and Ron (Lynn) Morris; sisters, Lynn (Ted) Schattner and Laura (Michael) Gorelik; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger Poppelman, Justin Gorelik, Sissy Peters, Paul (Terri) Gorelik, Margie (Bob) Veagas and Michael (Laura) Gorelik; nieces, nephews, other special relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name.
Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Morris; sister, Cathy Poppelman; and by Syl’s parents, Justin and Cecilia (nee: Bajtos) Gorelik.
Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment in Mound Cemetery will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday (April 27th) from 5-7 pm and on Monday from 12-1 pm. In memory of Julie, make the commitment to pray daily for all of your loved ones.
The family would like to thank Julie’s nurses and doctors at the Aurora Cancer Center in Racine for their loving care & compassion. May God bless all of you!
