Racine – Marion W. Kotowski, 98, passed away on July 30, 2014 at Lincoln Lutheran Care Center. She was born in Greenfield on December 1, 1915, daughter of the late William and Frieda (nee: Schubert) Butzfaff. Marion was united in marriage on May 30, 1936 to Harry Kotowski. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Marion lived in the Milwaukee area for most of her life, and worked at Everitt Knitting for many years. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. Her many grandchildren and their families brought her much joy, and she was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her 2nd great-great grandchild. Marion was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Milwaukee for many years, and was currently a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Racine.
Marion is survived by her children: Richard (Jane) Kotowski and Carol Meyer both of Racine; grandchildren: Linda (Hal) Mathieus, Karen (Jim) Sytsma, Curtis (Kristie) Meyer all of Racine, Douglas (Laura) Kotowski of Minneapolis, MN, and Sarah (Heather Moore) Kotowski of Seattle, WA; great-grandchildren: Jordan (Lisa) and Jared Mathieus, Nick, Charlie, and Peter Sytsma, Abigail and Kyle Meyer, Catherine and Charlotte Kotowski; and her great-great grandson Tyler Mathieus. She is further survived by her siblings: William (Marie) Butzlaff, Gloria Kraus, Ronald Butzlaff all of Milwaukee, Grace (George) Meitner of Racine, Melvin Butzlaff of Florida, Delbert Butzlaff of Germantown; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law: Charles Meyer, grandson; Matthew Kotowski ; brothers: Ferdinand (Janice) Butzlaff and Donald Butzlaff; and sisters: Loretta (Ray) Kotowski, Bernice Butzlaff, and Norma Butzlaff.
Funeral service for Marion will be held in the funeral home at 4:30pm on Monday, August 4, 2014. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm. Marion will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Highland Memorial Park in a private ceremony. Memorials to Grace Lutheran Church; or Lincoln Lutheran Care Center have been suggested.

My Aunt Marian was my godmother and very dear to my heart. The last few times I visited with her, she impressed me with her sharp intellect and wit. May she find everlasting joy and peace
