To the De Bartolo family
Order Flowers from Family Selected Florists
Flowers by JosephKenosha – Giuseppe De Bartolo, 80, received the promise of eternal life on Monday, October 17, 2016. He was born in Marano Marchesato (Cosenza), Italy, on March 30, 1936, son of the late Bruno and Antonietta (nee: Serpe) De Bartolo.
Giuseppe served in the Italian Army. He came to the United States on February 22, 1962. He returned to Italy to be united in marriage to the love of his life, Rita Fioravante, on August 18, 1968, in Cerisano, Italy, at San Lorenzo Church. Giuseppe worked for LeBlanc and then American Brass until his retirement.
Giuseppe’s favorite past time was playing cards. He enjoyed to play at his home and at friends’ houses as well as Salute or Infusino’s with his family and friends. He loved gardening and is well known for growing extremely large tomatoes, some weighing up to three pounds. He also was known for making great Italian sausage, salami, and cheese. Giuseppe liked going fishing down by Lake Michigan to catch whatever was biting. Giuseppe was a stock market guru. He routinely started the day by following the ups and downs of the stock market closely. When not watching the stock market, Giuseppe liked to gamble at the dog track, local casinos, and Las Vegas. He was also an NFL fan and loved the Packers. He was a story teller and loved to talk about his land and work in the Italian mountains. Above all, Giuseppe loved his family dearly. He enjoyed taking trips back to Italy where he would stay for months at a time with relatives. Giuseppe wanted to be wherever his family was getting together. He cherished the time spent with them and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Giuseppe leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 48 years, Rita De Bartolo; son, Domenico “Domenic” De Bartolo; siblings, Mary (Jack) Spizzirri, Ada (Tony) Vignieri, Frank (Rosaria) De Bartolo, Ida (John) Alia, Anna De Bartolo, Gemma Wells; brothers-in-law, Francesco (Marinella) Fioravante, Mario Ruffolo; sisters-in-law, Olga De Bartolo, Carmelina Ruffolo, Maria Tenuta; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.
In addition to his parents, Giuseppe is preceded in death by his brothers, Salvatore De Bartolo, Angelo De Bartolo; brother-in-law, Franco Tenuta; sister-in-law Emilia De Bartolo; and Father and Mother in-law, Enrico and Giuseppina Fioravante.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016, 3:00pm until 6:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, Racine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 24, 2016, 11:00am, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 1919 54th Street. Visitation on Monday will be at church from 10:00am until the time of the Mass. Entombment will follow the Mass on Monday at All Saints Cemetery in Pleasant Prairie.
The family would like to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to Dr. Giuseppe Garretto, Dr. Nunzio Gaglianello, Dr. Barbara Bresnahan, nurse coordinator, Heidi Illing, and Dr. James Kleczka, for the love and care given to Giuseppe over the years.
