Robert L. Gray passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at his residence in Racine, WI. He was born September 8, 1939 to Lewis and Margaret (nee: Milton) Gray in Jackson, MS.
Robert relocated to Racine in 1957 and was employed by Silver Steele as a Crane Operator for 23 years. He was also employed with the County of Racine as a Park Supervisor for 13 years.
Robert was an avid golfer for many years and was a founding member and supporter of the Racine Pin-Hi Golf Team for over 50 years. He enjoyed observing all sports but was fond of watching the Green Bay Packers, UW-Wisconsin, Milwaukee Bucks and especially St. Catherine’s Football, Baseball and Basketball games.
He was united in marriage to his first wife Theresa (nee: Price) Gray to this union three children were born. He was also united in marriage to his current wife Kathleen (nee: Rakowski) Gray, February 14, 1988 and within this union a blended family was developed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Kathleen Gray, three daughters: Carolyn (Warren Campbell) gray, Cassandra (Daryl) Carter Sr. and Theresa Cartwright. Two sons: Archie (Elizabeth) Gray and Edward (Lori) Martin. Nine grandchildren: Cenkeshia Gray, Jordan Gray, Andrea Cartwright, Nicholas Martin, Ebony Hunter, Daryl (DJ) Carter Jr, Heather Bladen, Keenan Carter and Emily Martin. Six great-grand children: Tyson Cobb, Alexia Bladen, Stephon Bladen, Chole Bock, Isabelle Cartwright and Matthew Bladen. Two sisters-in-law: Lettye Gray, Mary Simpson and Johanna Lyskawa and a host of nieces, nephews and friends to numerous to mention.
He was proceeded in death by his first wife Theresa (nee: Price) Gray, mother Margaret (nee: Milton) Gray, father Lewis Gray Sr. Brothers: Clarence Gray, Lewis Gray and Melvin Gray. Special aunt Maybelle Howard and special cousin Earlene Thompkins. Two special friends: Sylvester Itson and Jessie Cotton.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017, 11:00am, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Road. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

We all had the best times and childhood n your dad’s infectious smile and laugh made my day and warmed your heart. A truly, truly good man. All this week I thought of him standing in the doorway to the house when Dusty n I came over n my dad spoke of him all these years n this week how he performed on the golf course n how genuinely great he was at it! We need to get together this summer when we come home. By now Uncle Buddy n his wife have made it. to you n Racine with our family love offering and respects.
