Mt. Pleasant – Mary Jane Frank, 65, passed away at her home with her family and friends at her side on Friday, October 6, 2017. She was born in Racine on November 25, 1951, the daughter of Stanley and Gladys (nee: Miller) Penczykowski. Mary graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1969, and went on to earn her Nursing Degree from Northwestern Michigan College; and a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from UW-Parkside. On December 2, 1978 she was united in holy matrimony to Gregory Frank in Holy Name Catholic Church.
Mary’s nursing career spanned 41 years, most of which she devoted to All Saints hospital where she worked in the Intensive Care Unit. In her spare time she enjoyed playing golf, traveling and shopping. Mary liked testing new recipes which she served to friends and family at the many parties she hosted. She loved the sun, the flowers, her furry friends and the view of her pond from the back deck of her home. She loved all music and was noted to break into song at any time. Mary was an active and faithful member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church, formerly Holy Name Catholic Church. Mostly Mary loved spending time with her husband, sons, her family and many friends.
Mary is survived by her husband Gregory Frank of Mt. Pleasant; their sons Eric Frank of Racine, and Peter Frank of New Orleans, LA; her mother Gladys Penczykowski of Kenosha; brother Jim (Patricia La Cross) Penczykowski of Madison; sisters Ruth Egmose of Racine, Janice Penczykowski of Boca Grande, FL, and Alice (Tim) Tarjan of Fox Point; sister-in-law Anne (Alan) Speed of Houston, TX; as well and many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley E. Penczykowski; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Ruby Frank; and brother-in-law Steven P. Egmose.
Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 3:30pm-7:00pm, immediately followed by the Nightingale Tribute Service. Visitation will begin at 10:00am on Thursday, October 12, 2017 in St. Richard Catholic Church (1503 Grand Avenue), followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Private interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Please consider donations in Mary’s memory to St. Richards Parish, St. Catherine’s High School; or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The family would like to thank Mary’s loving friends for their constant care and support during her illness. Thank you to the great doctors and staff at All Saints Hospital; Seasons Hospice; and Brightstar Home Care for your kindness and devoted attention.

My Sincere sympathy to all of Mary’s Family. I worked with Mary starting in the 1970’s through the 80’s in ICU. She was an amazing Nurse and Friend. She was very Vibrant and a strong Woman. We had many good times together. She helped me and my Family when my sister was in ICU. We lost touch after my sister passed away but I just recently thought of Mary and wondered if she was still in Racine.
I was shocked and sad to hear of her passing. Rest in peace Mary.

My time with Mary was short, but during that time she showed me that she was a caring, dedicated and hardworking woman/nurse/friend.
Her work ethic was exemplary for the ongoing challenges for women.
Her concern for people, her can do attitude, and her raw & honest love for nursing makes me honored to have served with her.
And, it cannot be denied that when you were a friend with Mary, there was nothing she was not willing to do for you.
Rest In Peace Mary – you have fully satisfied your Mission here on earth, and you will be deeply missed, but the Lord requests your council in the kingdom.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the family.
Amen.
