ROBERT L. LEWIS
Mt. Pleasant – Robert L. Lewis, 85, passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ.
Bob was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 20, 1932, son of the late Robert and Mary (nee: Leeds) Lewis. After receiving a degree in mechanical engineering at Purdue University he joined the US Army. It was while stationed at the Nike Missile Site in Cudahy that he met Betty M. Bisser. They fell in love and were married on March 2, 1957 at Oak Creek Community Church.
Bob spent over 25 years in mechanical engineering at Dynamatic Corporation, retiring in 1988. In 1993 he began Lewis’s Tax Service, where he enjoyed building relationships with his clients. He was a member of Gateway and Milwaukee Rose Society. He spent his time attending to over 100 roses he grew at his home. He entered his prize roses in many shows where he won queen of the show on several occasions. His favorite place to relax was at the cottage in St. Germain, where he loved to fish and enjoy the lake view from his front porch. He also enjoyed bowling, cheering for the Purdue Boilermakers and the Green Bay Packers.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife Betty M. Lewis; their five lovely daughters, Linda (Dennis Steinke) Lewis of Pardeeville, Paula (Guy) Breese of Green Bay, Mary (Tom Wolfenberger) Lewis of Hartland, Virginia (Todd) Schuh of Caledonia, and Bobbie Lewis of Mt. Pleasant; his 15 grandchildren, Damon, Jacob, Joey, Ben, James, Michael, Katelyn, Anna, Megan, Sarah, Abigail, Melissa, Kristy, Kayla, and Dante; his 3 great-grandchildren, Addison, Henry and Hunter, and niece and nephew, Felicia Lennon and John Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Barbara Allen.
Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday evening for a visitation from 5-7 p.m. A service remembering and celebrating Bob’s life will be held at Living Faith Lutheran Church (2915 Wright Ave.) on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Rev.
