MOUNT PLEASANT – Angela R. Ingram, 55, passed away at Froedtert South, St. Catherine’s campus in Kenosha on Saturday, February 17, 2018.
Angie was born in Racine on March 31, 1962. She graduated from J.I. Case High School in 1980. She was currently working at Miller Coors in Milwaukee.
Angie professed her faith in Christ at a young age and was baptized by Reverend J.B. Bailey. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the usher board and inspirational choir. She loved the Lord and understood the power of prayer. Angie was a smart, fun-loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend who never met a stranger. She had a heart of gold, loved life, and was full of passion. Anyone who really knew Angie knew that when she loved, she loved hard. Only a few knew that her tough exterior was a shield to protect her heart from being broken. If ever anyone needed her, she was there—her loyalty was unmatched. Often times she went without, so others wouldn’t have to. Angie was a charitable giver and staunch advocate for equal rights and employment opportunities, often providing others with the information needed to make crucial decisions. Angie regularly shared her love for music and was quick to let you know that her favorite artists were Gerald Levert, Vincent Ingala, Euge Groove, and Brian Culbertson. If watching television, you’d often find her curled up watching westerns or black-and-white syndications. She had recently been bit by the travel bug and had planned numerous trips for 2018.
Angie is survived by her daughters, Brya Ingram-Norman, Taylor Ingram both of Mount Pleasant; her mother, Catherine (nee: Puryear) Ingram of Racine; her sisters, Doris Jones of Atlanta, Greta Ingram of Racine, Candace (Eric) Tate of Bonaire, GA, Jeanine Nash of Racine, brother, Chester (Marilyn) Allen of Murray City, TN; her nephews and nieces, Malcolm (Rosa) Griffin, Tracey Griffin, Andre` Jones, Johnny (Keshia) Williams, Contessa Ellis, Jerrad Williams, Christian Tate, Anthony Cannon, Jordon Nash; family friend, Carolyn Redmond; special friends Charlotte Faye Diggins of St. Louis, Lori Orr-Hadley of St. Louis, Adrianne Wooden of Tampa, Jennifer Gehring of Milwaukee; as well as many dear aunts, uncles, great nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, friends and coworkers. Angie was preceded in death by her father, Rochester Nash; her brothers, Kenneth Ingram and Jeffrey Nash; her brother-in-law, Jerry Jones; her aunts, Mary Weddle, Clementine Holmes; uncles, Amos and John Puryear; and special friends Corrine Hargrove and Nadine Livingston.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (1120 Grand Ave) on Saturday, February 24, 2018 for a visitation from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. A service celebrating her life and Homegoing will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby Officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
