David Ellsworth says
Around the corner I have a friend,
In this world that has no end;
Yet days go by, and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone,
And I never see my old friend’s face,
For life is a swift and terrible race.
She knows I like her just as well
“Tomorrow,” I say, “I will call on Carm,
Just to show that I’m thinking of her.”
But tomorrow comes–and tomorrow goes,
And the distances between us grows and grows.
Around the corner!–yet miles away .
I can only hope that corner is a shrinking one.. …….
Wishing Herb safe travels. and thinking of you Carmen.
With respect
David

I went to school with Herb, kindergarten to 12th grade. Played in the alley between Kearny Avenue and Flett Ave. with him Walked home from school with him many times also with Angus Calendar. He was always a happy kid who walked with a big hip in his step. you could always tell it was Herb by looking at his walk
