Miller's FlowersRACINE – Mathew Marzette, 68, passed away at his residence on Monday, September 23, 2019.
He was born in Etta, MS on July 24, 1951, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (nee: Owen) Marzette.
Mat graduated from Horlick High in 1969 and began employment that same year at Western Publishing/Golden books, where he was gainfully employed there for some 30 years. After Western closed its doors, Mat went to work at the Southern Wisconsin Center where he retired after 10 years as a highly respected supervisor.

Mat was a soft spoken man with a quiet strength. He dedicated himself to Jehovah and became one of Jehovah’s witnesses in 1987, and was a faithful witness up until his death. He loved his family and friends and was a very private person, whose friends were very valuable to him. He liked sports, old cars and old music.
He is survived by his children, Mathew A. (Karla) Marzette, Autumn (Aubrey) Anderson; his stepson, Michael Brown all of Racine; his 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; his mother, Elizabeth Marzette; his brothers and sisters, Mark Marzette, Thomas (Karen) Marzette, Kenneth Marzette, JoAnn Marzette, Linda Marzette all of Racine; his sister-in-law, Diane Willis; his dear friend of 54 years, Sam Hargrove, Jr.;as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Brenda, Mathew was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Marzette; his sister, Lenette Marzette; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vernia and Henry Harris and his sister-in-law, Maria Marzette.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 for a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A service honoring and remembering his life will follow at 12:00 p.m.

I will miss Mat who was like a second father to me. Many times I would tell others that Mat knew me before I knew me (due to my father’s close friendship w/him) and to my children he was Uncle Mat. He was always there and easy to talk to. Soon death will be no more and there will be no more tears – Rev. 21:3, 4. Alex and Autumn you will always be family. My families hearts, prayers and love go out to the Marzette family.

Matt endeared himself to all who knew him. His gentle personality & goodness, along with his strong faith in Jehovah were his strengths. He will be missed, but he rests securely in Jehovah’s memory. Condolences to all his loved ones, may we all follow his wonderful example and be there when Jesus awakens him . Our loss is only temporary. Grief will be replaced with unending joy, when every breathing Thing will praise Jehovah. Psalms 150:1-6 along with our dear Matthew.
