KENOSHA – Laurie Anne Fapso, age 61, of Somers, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 20, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loved ones following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 27th, 1959, in Kenosha, she came into this world to proud parents, Leonard “Speed” and Ida (Faraca) Paskiewicz. She attended St. Casimir Elementary, Washington Junior High School, and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. She also graduated from Gateway Technical College and continued her education at the University of Parkside.
On August 28th, 1988, Laurie married the love of her life, Bernard Fapso at the Kemper Center, in Kenosha by “Bucky” Morton. They fell in love over a volleyball net, built their log home together, raised their beautiful daughter Christina and spent many years fishing on the Wisconsin River.
She was employed as a Financial Assistant with Kenosha Joint Services for 34 years, retiring in 2016.
Although her life was too short, she lived it to the fullest and fought until the very end. Laurie was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was the life of the party and always made everyone laugh. Her bright eyes and beautiful smile lit up the room. She enjoyed sunshine, planting and watering her flowers, feeding the birds, swimming in her pool, traveling on their motorcycle, weekends up north on the Wisconsin River, trips to the family cabin in Birchwood and annual mother daughter vacations in Destin, Florida. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her grand puppies.
Her fun, loving spirit will live on in those who are left behind: her devoted husband of 32 years, Bernard Fapso; her loving daughter Christina Fapso and stepsons: Bernard Fapso, Christopher Fapso and Matthew (Jennifer) Fapso; her siblings: Linda (Gary) Shuler, sister-in-law Susan (James) Paskiewicz, Gary (Susan) Paskiewicz, Carole (Mark) DeCheck, and Tina (Jeff) Moore; brother in-law Richard (Anna) Fapso, daughter in-law Jodi Kaiser-Fapso; four grandchildren: James, Hayley, Judi and Trinity; two grand puppies: Beretta and Benelli; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, her dear friend, Kitty Bonadio and many good friends.
She was preceded in death and welcomed by her parents, Leonard and Ida Paskiewicz, in-laws John and Marguerite (Richter) Fapso, sister Amy Paskiewicz, and brother James Paskiewicz.
Laurie’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Mark DeCheck, the staff of St. Luke’s Medical Center, Aurora Cancer Care, Ascension Home Healthcare, RN Barbara Hopf, and Hospice Alliance, for their loving and compassionate care that was given to her during her battle.
A celebration of her life will be held in 2021 with family and friends, to be announced at a later date.
Memorial remembrances directed to Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158, would be appreciated.

The World Lost a Wonderful Soul. Laurie was such a Sweet, Caring, Giving, Funny Lady who became Friends with most everyone she met. She knew how to throw a party, and was often “The Life” of them. We’ve all been missing her at camp, and were praying for her to get better, but sadly it wasn’t meant to be. Heaven gained a Great One when it called Her Home. I’ll Miss You, Little Honey
Jim & Janice Pierangeli "Kratowicz" says

A loving caring mother, you are missed but your memories live with us every day. As with the recent brothers and sisters we will adopt your memories from our hearts into our daily lives. Your spirit lives on forever while we’re here and you’re away from us until we meet again.
