A service celebrating Wendy’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at the Draeger Langendorf Funeral Home. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until the time of her service.

Wendy Michelle Gerlach, 37, resident of Broomfield, Colorado, late of Pleasant Prairie, WI suffered a brain bleed on May 8, 2021, and she passed away in the early hours of May 12, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado.
She was born on May 3, 1984 to Jill Jensen and Alan Gerlach in Kenosha, WI. She was taught in local schools and graduated from Tremper High School class of 2002. Wendy went on to graduate from UW-Eau Claire in 2007 with a degree in Communicative Disorders. In June 2009 Wendy was driving when she was hit by an inattentive driver, leaving her with debilitating injuries. She had been attending UW – Madison for her Masters/Doctorate degree in Audiology. She wanted to work with pediatric patients at Children’s Hospital who receive Cochlear Implants. Unfortunately, she had to withdraw from the program due to the permanent injuries she received in the auto accident.
In 2019 Wendy relocated to Broomfield, Colorado to legally use THC products. This allowed her to manage her chronic migraines, work full time, and enjoy the company of her boyfriend, Kris Miller. She was employed full-time at Uniform Technology in Longmont, CO and part-time at at Home Stores LLC Broomfield, CO.
Wendy is survived by her parents; a sister, Nicole (Jacob) Lawler; her paternal grandfather, Donald Gerlach; two nephews, Aiden and Avery Lawler, and one niece, Andi Lawler. She loved Aiden, Avery, and Andi very much. Wendy is survived by her loving cat, Amaretto, who now lives in New York City. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Richard and Darlene Jensen, her paternal grandmother, Carole Gerlach, and her aunt, Laurie Lange.
Please remember Wendy and her story next time you’re driving your car. It only takes a second to permanently alter your life, the life of someone you love, or that of a complete stranger. If it were not for the auto accident, you would not be reading her obituary.
