A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest with his wife in St. James Cemetery

James L. Nolen, age 97 of Kenosha, found his peace on Monday, October 25, 2021.
Jim was born in Kenosha on July 9, 1924, a son of the late William and Margaret (nee; Andersen) Naekrsz.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy serving from 1942-1946 earning numerous ribbons and medals. Jim was an honored recipient of the Silver Star.
On August 5, 1950, in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Helen “Mae” Terrien. Sadly, she preceded him in death on May 10, 2020, shortly before their 70th wedding anniversary.
He owned and operated Jim Nolen Builders, Inc. for over 30 years.
Jim was a long-time member of St. Mary Catholic Church and had served his church as an usher for Mass and funerals for many years. He was also a proud member of the Danish Brotherhood Lodge #14 and cherished the friendships he made there. Jim served as a corneal transplant volunteer driver through the Kenosha Evening Lions, where he had been a member for numerous years.
He was a true family man and was always ready to sit at the round table, sip a bit of bourbon, lend an ear, and give advice.
Survivors include his children, Russ (Deb) Nolen, Terry (Carl) Vrba, and Janice (Don) Koehne, all of Kenosha; his eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a great great grandson.
Along with his parents and his wife, Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Spencer; a great-granddaughter, Mary Spencer, and his siblings, Harry Nolen, Bill, Walter, and Raymond Naekrsz, Alice Ostram, Elaine Roth, and June Tribur.
