Gary M. Masik, 76, passed away at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center on Saturday, June 3, 2023, surrounded by his three children. He was born in Racine on October 25, 1946, the son of the late Julius P. and Catherine R. (nee: Matern) Masik.
Gary proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. On July 18, 1970, he was united in marriage to Deena Mae Wheeler, his high school sweetheart. He loved and honored her and their vows well beyond her death on May 19, 1998. Gary was a longtime employee of Danfoss Inc. until retiring in 2000. He enjoyed fishing, listening to 1950s and 1960s music (he could name every group and song just by hearing the first few notes…and usually had a story to go along with it), and cheering on “his” Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees. He also loved animals, especially his dog, Emmet.
Surviving are his three children, Nathan (Bethany) Masik, Elizabeth Masik, all of Racine, and Annalisa (Sam) Bousaid, of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren, Selah and Declan; sisters, Judy Andersen, Sharyn Masik, and Darlene Masik; brothers, Ronald (Betty) Masik, and David (Jean) Masik. His nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends also survive him. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Witte, and brother, Thomas Masik.

I haven’t seen Gary in many years. But I have many fond memories from when we were kids. We grew up in the same neighborhood during the 50’s and 60’s. The neighborhood gang spent many hours hanging out at Stephen Bull. My best memory is playing baseball with Gary and Ron. My condolences to your entire family. I’m sorry for you loss.
