I remember Mary Ann well, along with all of the Blommels! She was one of my baby sitters in the 1940’s. In fact, she was my last babysitter because I asked my Mother if I could have the same amount of money if I babysat myself! I was about 9 years old at the time and Mary Ann was 13 years old. We had previously lived at 1809 Howe Street. My grandparents lived at 1836 Howe Street…….my childhood was spent playing with Marguerite and Dorothy, plus the other kids who lived on Howe Street! This picture of Mary Ann looks very much as I remember Marguerite! I’m so sorry for her family’s loss. But I’m glad that there are still a couple more Blommels left……..Christine and Laurie. Please accept my condolences.

MaryAnn was an absolute gift to everyone. I thank her first for my brother, Jim. Our lives changed when Jim came into our family. I never felt so lucky to have someone so special with such joy, positivity, kindness and grace in my life.
And then we met his mom, MaryAnn, and it made sense where he got his light. She was the most genuine shining light I have ever met. She would hug me and ask me how I was doing with enthusiasm and truly care to know. She would listen and give you her utmost attention like you were the most important person in the world. She became a bonus grandma to my sons, and she spread her love everywhere she went!
MaryAnn was the closest thing to an angel on earth, and now she gets her wings in heaven with Jim. May she rest peacefully. Sending our love and condolences to all of the Glassen family. 🙏🏼❤️🕊️
