Paul D Barrett age 73, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024 at Aurora Medical Hospital. Paul was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on August 13, 1950, son of the late Raymond and Evelyn (Girard) Barrrett.
Paul is survived by his children Adam (Desiree) Barrett of Port Orchard, WA, and Tracy (Brian) Sinner of Franksville, Wisconsin. 4 grandchildren- Mary Beth and Emily Barrett of Port Orchard, WA, Randy and Katelynn Sinner of Franksville, WI. 2 sisters Karen Skow and Denise Barrett of Racine, WI, brother n law Ron (Sandy) Johnson and nieces and nephews.
Paul graduated from Washington Park High School in 1968 and Gateway Technical College in the early 90’s with a degree in Marketing. He was employed with Chrysler Corporation for over 30 years up until his retirement in July of 2008.
He met the love of his life Pamela in 1987 and they were married in March of 1988. We were what you called a blended family, but we made it work. Our parents had a love that was like a sacred bond that couldn’t be broken.
They had a great life together traveling multiple times to Mexico, LaCrosse, Minnesota and to Elkhart Lake to watch the Indy Car Races.
Paul always played his guitar in the morning at the kitchen table and in his early years he was in a couple of bands. He was exceptionally talented when it came to music, from his acoustic guitar, 12 string guitar, ukulele, and other string instruments.
Besides being a gifted musician, he was also a very good cook as well. We always had different food that we tried and always managed to dirty all the pots and pans as well in the process. When us kids were younger our parents took us skiing for New Years out at Alpine Valley that was our family time to be together.
Paul will be deeply missed but we know that he is back with the love of his life Pamela.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, parents, in-laws, brothers Jon and Matt Barrett.
A memorial will be planned later with his immediate family due to his wishes.
A special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Aurora Medical Hospital in Racine and Hospice who help take care of our father.
