A memorial for David will be planned for a later date.
David Robert Westman, age 83, passed away on April 26, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant with close family by his side.
Dave was born on July 9, 1940, in Bristol, Wisconsin, the first son of John and Carol Westman. He had two brothers, James and John, and sister, Joudi. Dave graduated from Salem Central High School, then went to UW-Madison and later completed his degree at UW-Milwaukee. Dave and his wife Nancy met in 1956 at Bristol Methodist Church while attending separate high schools and continued to date until 1960 when they were married in that same church. They have three children: Jayne (Mike) Gasperi of Racine, Susan (Mike) Fraijo of Carlsbad, CA and Michael Westman of Racine. Dave and Nancy are fortunate to have nine grandchildren, who they enjoy immensely!
Dave began working at Western Printing, then at SC Johnson for 34 enjoyable years, including a two-year international work assignment. Throughout his life, Dave had many hobbies, which included hunting, fishing, baseball, playing tennis, golf, bridge and carving with friends at the Riverbend Carving Club. He and Nancy also enjoyed many international land and river cruises, often with special friends, and spending time with family at their lake home in northern Wisconsin.
Dave will be dearly missed by his family!

I met David while volunteering at River Bend Nature Center shortly after it reopened. I enjoyed working on many projects at the center with Dave and Bob O. through the years. He was a friendly and resourceful volunteer who will be missed.
