I worked for May and Bobby at the Oriental Inn when I was a young teacher in the late 1970’s. They worked very hard and so did their kids. It was a life of immigration, hard work, dedication to family and building their business. May was a good business person and built many lifelong friendships through the restaurant. May she and Bobby rest in peace together. Sympathies to the kids and family.

My family remembers eating in the “little restaurant”. Then May bought the building next door! The Yee family was part of our (Krupp) family. We loved May, Bobby and their children. We dined there frequently. My parents, Bob and Nell were always invited to their Chinese New Year celebratory meals! May was a vibrant, sweet, generous soul. I loved her laugh! Bobby, fervently worked in the kitchen producing the best Chinese food I’ll ever have. I love you May! Thanks for EVERYTHING!

We were so very sad to hear of May’s passing. Despite being in Australia for a number of years now, we always remember May and Bobby and the Yee Family. We used to travel from Racine to the Oriental Inn on regular occasions to spend time with the wonderful Yees. Many a shared dinner out the back of the restaurant. In particular, we remember how Auntie May (as she was known to Michelle) cooked and delivered the Chinese traditional eggs and ginger nourishing soup to Rita (following. Michelle’s birth in Racine), how you could never eat enough “more more” of her and Bobby’s delicious cooking, how she regularly made contact every Christmas, every Thanksgiving and on special family occasions. We remember her very generous gift for Michelle’s wedding in Australia, and when Rita and Michelle came back to visit the States in November 2017, Auntie May very kindly lent us her beautiful Lincoln car to make our travel easier. She was always kind, generous, loving and full of energy to bring people together and share each other’s company. She will always be remembered in our hearts and will be sorely missed by so many. We are sure that May, Bobby and Glenn are sharing a wonderful meal together up in heaven xoxo
All our love from Down Under,
Rita, Michelle (and Glenn) xoxo
