Melissa J. Russo, age 65, passed away from her battle with cancer on July 13, 2024. Born in Racine on April 22, 1959, she was the daughter of Curtis J. and Patricia A. (nee: Spranger) Royce.
Melissa graduated from Union Grove High School. Her smart and sassy personality led her down many paths until she found her passion as a Dental Lab Technician. She worked for many dental practices including Maritato Dental, Nu-Art Dental, and Racine Dental Group throughout the years. She retired after a stroke in August of 2021.
Melissa played many roles in life: Daughter, Sister, Mother, Wife, Aunt, and her favorite being Grandma. She enjoyed traveling, going to the movies, family time, shopping, and the occasional casino trip. Spending time with her grandchildren was always a priority. Even just a couple hours could turn into sleepovers, museums, festivals, and spur of the moment trips.
Melissa is survived by her children, Morgan (Chris) Hintz, and Tom (Danielle) Russo, her grandchildren Jaiden and Christina Hintz, Laila, Mya, and Mason Russo, and her father Curt Royce, along with nieces, nephews, and friends that became family. Along with her mother, Melissa was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Royce.

My deepest condolences Curt, Morgan, and Tom. Some of my most cherished memories from growing up are spending time with Aunt Melissa at R-Tap and “pool days” at the Royce residence. Much love.
