Miller's FlowersRacine – Ida Mae Hollimon, age 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Monday, October 14, 2024.
Ida Mae was born in Saltillo, Mississippi on November 9, 1929 to the late Willie McGee and Pearlie Mae Agnew. She lived in Tupelo, Mississippi until moving to Racine, WI in 1969. She was united in marriage with Richard Hollimon.
Ida Mae enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing cards, cooking, working in her gardens and, above all, spending time with her family. She absolutely loved being a mother and was truly a people person. Ida Mae kept open doors for anyone in this city. She will be remembered for the love in her heart, her feisty self and her heart of gold.
Ida Mae always thanked the Good Lord for giving her another day. She wore many crowns and now God has “crowned” her eternally.
Surviving are her daughter & son-in-law, Effie & John Miller; son, Jessie Lee Hollimon; daughter, Margaret Brown; daughter & son-in-law, Eleie & Thomas Fowler; son & daughter-in-law, Jerry & Abra Hollimon; many adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren – too numerous to list all by name but loved all of them dearly; sister, Lula Clanton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ida Mae was greeted in Heaven by her children, John W. Hollimon, Eddie Lee Hollimon, James B. Hollimon, David Alan Hollimon and Mary Annette Hollimon; and siblings, Willie Bee McGee, Robert McGee, Jim Mitchell McGee, Forrest McGee, Charles Lewis, Nancy, Katie & Rose.
