There will not be a formal service, but family and friends are invited to join John’s family for an open house and celebration of his life at Roma Lodge on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

MOUNT PLEASANT – John E. Hearn, 78, passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
He was born in Racine on September 9, 1946, the son of the late Earl and Ella (nee Andersen) Hearn. He graduated from Washington Park High School and Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, where he excelled in baseball and was inducted into Wartburg’s Hall of Fame for basketball.
John taught at various schools, most notably, Washington Junior High until making a career transition into sales.
He had a passion for playing softball in Racine for many years. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling, as well as boating and fishing with his sons.
John is survived by his sons, Jay (Ann) Hearn and Josh (Allyce) Hearn; his friend and former wife, Helen Hearn; his brother, Tom (Jane) Hearn; his sister, Kris Eppler; his aunt, Liz Goldsworthy; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Condolences to Tom, Jane and the whole Hearn family. John was a Racine legend in softball, people would go to the park to watch John hit those long home runs! May GOD look over the family during this time and forever.
