Service Details
His Homegoing Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, February 27th at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be that day from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.

James E. Pierce. was born on September 24, 1960, in Jasper County Mississippi, to Lurline Townsend and the late James Waters. James was reared by his grandparents the late Houston and Jessie Pierce along with his cousins Mary A. Kennedy(AL), Barbara A. Jones(Mickey) and sister Lisa Pierce-Walker. At an early age James accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior. James received his formal education in the Racine Unified and Jasper County School District. He worked for many years as a log loader until his health began to fail. James enjoyed life and loved to laugh and have fun with family and friends. James “Ground Hog” was always the life of the party!
James leaves to cherish his memories of his mother Lurline Townsend; Brothers, Floyd Pierce and Jerry Pierce (Shemacia).Sisters Shirley Hare (Robert), Berta Waters, Mary Waters, Jaimie Waters(Chris) and Lisa Pierce- Walker. Uncles Wallace Pierce(Mildred), Houston Pierce (Christine), Ronnie Pierce, Eulice Waters(Jackie) and Memphis Milsap. Aunts, Fayola Lovett(John), Mary A. Terrell, and Cora Taylor(Tommie). James is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to numerous to name. A Special friend, Kathy Bell and her children, Ltisha, Tabuthia and Doremus whom he loved dearly. James was preceded in death by his father James Waters, grandmother Alberta McDonald; stepfather James Townsend; Brother David Pierce Sr, . and niece Shadina Abney (Dean). Aunts and Uncles Floyd Pierce, Lamar Pierce, Curley B. Milsap and Connie S. Pierce.
A special thanks to James’s caregivers and family members Roy Lockridge, Tawnya Williams, Jerry Pierce, Linda Pierce-Tyler and Taurean Pierce for all the compassionate care shown to James.
