Racine – Alexia Leigh Johnson, 20, affectionately known to many as “Ali”, was born into Eternal Life on Wednesday, June 10, 2009. Ali was born in Racine on July 27, 1988 to Pamela Jeanette Harris and Albert Lee Johnson. She received her education from St. Catherine’s High School and Gateway Technical College. Ali enjoyed praising her Lord at United Faith Missionary Baptist Church. With a friendly personality and infectious smile, she worked as a successful sales associate for Toys-R-Us, Kohl’s, Burlington Coat Factory, Boston Store and Waxdale. Among her interests, Ali was passionate about her music, movies, computer, styling her hair and, of course, being a Mom. Above all, Ali will be remembered for her God-given gift of giving unto others. Surviving are her daughter, Zemirah Janay Hunter, age 3; mother, Pamela Harris; father, Albert Johnson; step-sisters and brothers, Tracy Hughes, Petra Trapp, Valencia Days, LeAtta Davis, Corey Edwards, Mel McGee and Marquon; Zemirah’s father, JaVonte Hunter; grandparents, Colvin Nunn and Angela Fralin; aunts and uncles, Caroline Harris, Theodore (JoCarol) Harris Jr., Patrick Harris, Mae Turner, Frank Love, Marvin Nunn, John Nunn, Sarah Yancy, Calvin Dudley, Chermaine Mainor, Clayton Cobb and Colvin Nunn, Jr.; special nephew, Tyrell Johnson; great aunt, Madeline Pettiegrew; cousins, Terry and Aaryn Harris; Theodore Harris III; very best friend, Chantel Gandy; many other loving relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. Ali was preceded in death by her grandparents; Theodore Harris Sr., Mary Davis and Irene Johnson. Funeral services will be held in United Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 1327 Blake Ave., on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 11 am with Rev. Elliott Cohen and Rev. Taurus Pinson officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. A private repast reception, for immediate family members only, will be held after the cemetery service. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7 pm and in the church on Wednesday from 10-11 am. In memory of Ali, memorials to her family would be appreciated.
