
Racine- Alice E. (nee: Koeppen) Nagel, 95, passed away at her home on Thursday, March 22, 2007. A lifetime resident, she was born in Racine on April 8, 1911 to Hugo and Margaret (nee: Mischo) Koeppen. On September 14, 1935 in St. Lucy Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with Harold Nagel. Catholic by faith and a graduate of Holy Name School and St. Catherine’s High School, she went on to further her education at Moore Business College. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary at Jacobsen Mfg. and Harben Mfg. and was a partner of the Taylor Avenue Kiddie Shop. Mrs. Nagel was an avid golfer and bowler; and enjoyed needlepoint (was awarded many blue ribbons for her work) and mastering crossword puzzles. Surviving are her loving husband of over 71 years, Harold; grandchildren, Tria (Jim) Braun and Ted Durocher; great-grandchildren, Briara and Brody Braun. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nagel was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Louise Durocher; and sister, Irene Chapman. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 4:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Private entombment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 pm.
