Andrea Beaugrand passed away from colon cancer on Sunday, September 22nd. Andrea fought long and hard to stay on this earth with family and friends showing doctors there is no one who can say how long you can survive with a positive attitude, compassion towards others, and a smile. Although Andrea was in pain, she always put others first. That is the way she always was. Andrea would sit and listen to others and offer advice, it was something she loved to do while cutting hair or just out and about. She always pointed out the positive side of things for others. She had a smile and laughter that were contagious. It was impossible to be sad around her, she wouldn’t allow anyone to be hurt. That is the kind of loving, caring soul she was, and this is how she will be remembered by all of us. We know it is unfair that the good ones get taken from us far too soon in our eyes but remember Drea! Be like Drea spread positivity, kindness, courage, and most of all laughter in her name. Over the past couple years Drea got to take her daughter Josslyn to amazing and fun places to make more memories. If you are reading this now, why wait to do the same? Andrea said to me “Man I wish I would have started making memories more, traveling, learning a new skill, spending time with family.” It was at that time something clicked my baby sister taught me something. Life isn’t about work, money and just living. No Ma’am! Life should be enjoyed and cherished too! Have fun while your body lets you and enjoy moments so your mind can remember. We truly never know how much time we have left.
Andrea is survived by her loving daughter, Josslyn Jorgensen; father, Garey Beaugrand; mother, Debra (Heckel) Beaugrand; sister, Destiny and her wife, Lisa Beaugrand; brother, Aaron and his wife Amanda Beaugrand; their 2 daughters, Macy and Paisley; grandpa, Richard Fortier and grandma, Mona Fortier; Aunt Sheryl & Jeff Petro; cousins, Terra, Katy, Ryan, and Jeffery Petro. She is preceded in death grandparents, Richard (Dick) & Audrey; and uncle, Mike Heckel.
A trust fund for Josslyn’s college and future expenses has been set up at Landmark Credit Union under Josslyn Jorgensen Irrevocable Trust. It was Andrea’s request to not have a funeral but to have a party. A celebration of life will be held in the future.
In closing the family would like to thank Dr. Mullane and the staff at Aurora. A special thank you to Darryl Jorgensen for all of your help, for being a great dad to Josslyn and part of our family forever. Thank you to Andrea’s friends (especially her soul sisters & Andrea’s Angels) and people who have reached out to express sympathy towards us in this time.
Drea had a tattoo she got when she was younger. After she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, she didn’t like it as much. But please remember to enjoy the now, spend time with family and friends, do the fun things, travel, spread kindness and love!!!!! Her tattoo was the quote: Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die today.
