Anthony Ray Rush left this world to be with the Lord on November 5, 2024, at the age of 58. Born on July 9, 1966, in Racine, WI, to Gloria Rush and the late Thomas Rush II, Anthony lived a life full of love, light, and laughter.
Known to many simply as “RUSH,” Anthony was a man of unforgettable charm and swagger. His presence lit up every room he entered, and his special charisma left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Anthony loved to skate, gliding smoothly across the rink with style and grace that mirrored his lively spirit. On the dance floor, he moved effortlessly, his steps captivating those around him. A pool pro, he welcomed any challenge, never backing down and always delivering with skill.
Anthony’s love for his family and friends was boundless. He treasured every moment spent creating memories, sharing stories, and laughing with those he held close. His faith in the Lord was a cornerstone of his life, and he prayed with a sincerity that made one feel as if he were talking to a friend beside him. He is now at peace, resting in the arms of the Lord.
Anthony was a graduate of Keiser University in Tallahassee, Florida, where he earned his degree in Information Technology with honors. A tech wizard with a natural knack for computers, he was always ready to help others with their tech needs. Throughout his career, Anthony wore many hats, working at Uline as a skilled CNC Operator, licensed Forklift Operator, and Help Desk Technician, among other roles. His versatility, dedication, and work ethic made him a valuable asset in every position he held.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Rush II; brothers, Preston Rush and Thomas Rush III; and sisters, Linda Hayes, Debra Rush, and Asalee Rush.
Anthony leaves behind his loving mother, Gloria Rush, who will miss him dearly; his soulmate, Tina Turk-Rush; his children, Shonte Rush, Anthony Rush, Deonte Beadles-Rush, and Avalon Rush; and two bonus sons, Antoine and Aaron Turk. His grandchildren—Ga’Riyah, Geonnah, GaKhari, DaKotah, DaMoni, Amiryon, Anthony, Anariyon, Kemiyah Rush, and Jaquareia Williams—will carry on his joyful legacy. He is also survived by his siblings: Theresa (James) Calloway, Beverly (fiancé Sammuel Lewis) Rush, Felecia (Chris) Green, and David Blackwell.
Anthony’s many nieces and nephews, including beloved nieces Nerrisa Rush, Aisha Hopkins, Dominique Rush, Laquasha Ivory, Latisha Berryhill, Ora Rouse and Charlyn Rouse, nephew Thomas Hopkins, as well as special nephews Sadiki Rush and Laquan Berryhill, and special niece Cynthia Conley-Rush, will always cherish his memory. Additionally, a host of dear friends and lifelong friends, including Pastor Stanley McKenzie, Robert Mooney, Andre Epps, Tracy Brooks, Jimmy Ward, Jeff McReynolds, Jeff Holly, Shelton Cooper, Rueben Allen, and Pastor Frank James, will remember his infectious laughter and unwavering loyalty.
