
Racine – Arthur D. Langberg, 88, passed into the Lord’s loving hands on Sunday, February 3, 2008. He was born on August 20, 1919 in Minot, North Dakota, son of the late William and Vanda (nee: Honore) Langberg. Art served proudly during WWII in Africa and Europe with the US Army 135th Engineering Battalion. He began his 61 year marriage to Anita Starr on a warm summer day on July 6, 1946. Art was a baker for most of his life, and had owned the Taylor Avenue Bakery. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies, playing cribbage, and short trips to Potawatomi casino to play Wheel of Fortune. He also liked getting his hands dirty in the garden, and was well known for his beautiful roses and tasty tomatoes. Together with Anita, he enjoyed seeing the great USA, traveling to 42 states. Art was a member of the International Order of the Moose, VFW, and the Bakers Union. He is survived by his wife, Anita Langberg; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Christoff of Mesquite, Nevada; son-in-law, John Rosko of Kenosha; and Greg (Jean) Nelson of Racine who was like an adopted son to him. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Julie (Eric) Dailey, Randy (Christa) Rosko, Shelly (Jeremy) Emerson, Wendy (Shawn) Davis, Nicolle (fiancé Eric Keele) Christoff, and adopted granddaughter Heather (Jack) Weast; 5 great grandchildren, Ryliegh, Ryan, and Connor Rosko, Claire Dailey, and Alexis Davis; and sister, Inez Schatzley of Racine. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Starlene Rosko; son Gary Langberg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ester (Bill) Mulder, and Goldie (Frank) Miles. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2008 with Rev. Linda Farmer-Lewis and Rev. Kathy Nuzzo officiating. All are invited to meet in the funeral home beginning at 12:30 p.m. Private Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to the All Saints Cancer Center have been suggested.
