Sturtevant – Barbara Ann (nee: Halverson, Schmidt) Schultz, age 79, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints Medical Center on Wednesday evening, June 4, 2014.
Barbara was born in Black River Falls, WI on September 3, 1934 to the late LeRoy and Louise (nee: Nelson) Halverson. After attending Washington Park High School, she began working at Walgreen’s, Western Publishing, Hamilton-Beach, and lastly, began a 30-year career with Schultz Grading from where she retired in 1997.
Among her interests, Barbara was an avid bowler who enjoyed being a member of the Bert Johnson, Inc. bowling team. She was a loyal Brewer and Packer fan; and was always up for a game of Cribbage. Above all, Barbara loved and cherished being together with her entire family and circle of friends.
Surviving are her children, Sandra (Dave) Moseley, Kim (Rudy Moherek) Schmidt, Shari Schultz and Jane (husband, Paul Thoele) Schultz; grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Fumich, John (Kristelle) Fumich and Keri (Eric) Steen; great-grandchildren, Cody Fumich, Preston and Lila Fumich, Erica and Jessica Steen, and Jon Steen; sister-in-law, Fern (the late Bert) Johnson; devoted best-friend, Marie Kubowski; and nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her former husband & lifelong partner, Waldemor “Wally” Schultz (of whom died on June 5, 2012); sisters, Delores “Dee” Johnson and Sara Obernberger; sister-in-law, Goldene (Clarence) Michaels; and brothers-in-law, Junior Schultz and Harold (Norma) Schultz.
Memorial services celebrating Barbara’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 4 pm with Rev. Gary Thaler officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 pm. In accordance with Barbara’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
