
Bernard L. Loughan, 76, passed away in Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints on Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Bernard was one of seven children born to Charles and Alva (nee: Harder) Loughan. Bernie served his country with the U.S. Marines from 1950 until 1954. On July 24, 1971 he was united in marriage to the former Evelyn Perman. He had been employed by Racine Steel Casting for over 17 years until his retirement. Surviving are his devoted wife, Evelyn; his children, Richard Loughan, of Spring Hills, FL, Paulette Loughan, of Racine, and Julie (Gary) Ryback, of Artesia, NM; 6 grandchildren, Monica (Scott) Wagner, Pamela (Kurt) Jones, all of Kenosha, Carrie-Ann (Ray) Kennemur, Christine (Russel) Hesser, all of Las Cruses, NM, David Ryback, of Artesia, NM, and Paul Ryback, in AZ; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Arthur (Sue) Loughan, of Holton, IN; sisters, Barbara Loughan, Jacqueline Loughan, both of Racine, and Pat Bower, of Sturtevant; sister-in-law, Delores Loughan,, of Waupaca. In addition to his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles W. Loughan and Joseph J. Loughan. In keeping with Bernie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Evelyn would like to express her undying gratitude for the care and and compassion given Bernie by the entire staff of the Wheaton Franciscan Cardiac Group and nurse practitioner, Jennifer Niederstadt.
